The Englewood Teachers’ Association represents over 300 teachers and education professionals working in the Englewood Public School District. We are dedicated to the support and advancement of high quality public education. Through a strong association, our service to our students and their families is enhanced.
In addition to negotiating our contract, we serve our members by representing them in cases where their rights must be protected. Through our affiliations with the Bergen County Education Association (BCEA) and the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), we enable our members to take advantage of their many resources and professional development opportunities. We keep our members informed of happenings on the local, state and national level that impact public education and public educators, and alert them to opportunities to make their voices heard when it comes to protecting and advancing public education.
In addition, the ETA leaders work hard to articulate members’ concerns and members’ points of view on issues that affect teaching and learning conditions, through regular meetings with district administration, attendance at Board of Education meetings, and participation in district committees. We always strive to maintain positive working relationships and open lines of communication with our Board, Central Office and building administrators.
Last but not least, we work throughout the year to develop and maintain positive community relations through our PRIDE activities that support the students and the community of Englewood.
